Norwegian Epic Delivery!
Norwegian Epic scheduled for delivery on Thursday
Norwegian Epic returned from its final sea trials on Sunday after completing three days of tests in the Atlantic Ocean. Norwegian Cruise Line said delivery from STX France is set for Thursday. During the trials technicians and engineers from STX, along with NCL representatives, checked more than 60 aspects of the ship’s performance including speed, maneuverability, hydrodynamics and propulsion, among others. ‘Overall, [Norwegian Epic] performed very well and exceeded expectations,’ the company said. On Thursday the ship is scheduled to depart the yard and sail to Rotterdam for a two-day inaugural cruise. On June 21, Norwegian Epic will operate a one-night preview cruise to Southampton, arriving the following day for a two-day inaugural sailing.
Seatrade Insider will be reporting from the two-day Southampton preview.
The seven-day Atlantic crossing to New York begins on June 24.
